The Volkswagen Up will be ready for their new home in UK in spring 2012. The base price for this German hatchback sets at £7,995. Das Auto hopes the Up will be able to compete on the compact city car segment because the hatchback offers engine range which we think is pretty competitive. The engine for VW Up is in the form of 1.0L that able to provide 60 and 75 horsepower. If you want to save the mother nature, Volkswagen offers the Up in BlueMotion Technology version.

There are three models for Volkswagen Up and two special editions. The three models for the hatchback are the Take Up, Move Up, and High Up; as for the special editions are in the form of Up Black and Up White. For the first batch, the Up hatchback will be in three-door version because the five-door version has scheduled for sale on the second half of the 2012.

The Take Up is set as the base model for the Volkswagen Up and carries standard features such as front and side/head/thorax airbags, body-colored bumpers, 14-inch steel wheels, daytime running lights, and brand new RCD 215 CD radio with aux-in.

Choosing the Move Up model, Das Auto filled this hatchback with features namely the easy-entry seats, variable-height load floor, electric front windows, remote central locking, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, air conditioning, and 60:40 split/fold rear seats. With price tag at £8,970; this Up carries additional features in the form of body-colored door mirrors and handles.

On the performance part, the Move Up equips with BlueMotion Technology. The technology offers the hatchback with start-stop system which able to give fuel efficiency up to 6%, braking energy recover, and low rolling resistance tires. This technology can be yours if you willingly pay for £360.

The other model for Volkswagen Up will be the High Up that will cost you around £10,390. Yup… its more expensive hatchback compare to other models, but with that price, you will be able to enjoy features like the electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors, heated front seats, hear lever and handbrake grip, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a choice of dashboard color and the Maps and more personal information device. Its easy to spot this hatchback, just look for those 15-inch alloy rims and fog lights.

We still have two more special editions of the Up – the Up Black and Up White that offered in £11,180 for each hatchback. Judge from the name, the Up Black dresses in deep black pearl, while the Up White covers in pure white metallic paint. Both hatchbacks have 16-inch alloy rimes, chrome door mirror caps and door side strips, and body-colored center sections. Step inside, you will find special stripes upholstery, carpet mats, and body-colored dashboard.

As we have previously reported that the Volkswagen Up is intended to challenge the MINI, Citroen C1, and Fiat 500. We think the biggest competitors for the Volkswagen Up are the MINI and Fiat 500 as those two have been battling to be on top f hatchback share market in Europe.

At first, we thought that the engine of the Volkswagen Up is in the form of rear engine. But Das Auto stated that their Volkswagen Up is using the little three-cylinder engine. That frisky three-cylinder engine can be considered at the smallest engine on the entire Volkswagen line-up. Not only that, the three-cylinder engine on the Volkswagen Up compact hatchback is replacing the rear-wheel drive configuration which was equipped to the concept.

The Volkswagen Up compact hatchback offers two petrol units of 1.0L displacement that is able to give power output around 60 horsepower or 75 horsepower. So, what kind of Volkswagen Up is really about?

According to Das Auto, the Volkswagen Up compact hatchback is focusing to be daily city car which can put up with all the traffic congestion which usually happens on business hours. Traffic congestion means one thing: lavish petrol usage. Fear not, as the Volkswagen Up has excellent fuel consumption due to VW’s BlueMotion Technology. Here is what Klaus Bischoff – the Head of Design for the Volkswagen Brand said about the Volkswagen UP compact hatchback, “If the goal is to maximize space, the ideal form for a small car would be a rectangular box. In the Volkswagen Up, we were able to sculpt such a box with a clean and powerful design that does not lose sight of space utilization.”

No official price yet, but if das Auto wants the compact hatchback to be able to compete with MINI and Fiat 500, it means that the Volkswagen Up has to show up as an affordable city car.

The Volkswagen Up is no longer a concept because the four-door hatchback has earned its official unveil to the world. Not much of expectations over the Volkswagen Up hatchback because Das Auto is in need to create vehicle which is both revolutionary and cost effective.

The Volkswagen Up hatchback has 3.54 meters in length which is obviously is smaller than a MINI. Yes folks… Not only Volkswagen that wishes the Volkswagen Up hatchback could offer tight competition against the Citroen C1 and of course the Fiat 500. Do you notice the wheel at the Volkswagen Up hatchback? That wheel is very ideal maneuvering in and out tight curves in the city. Oh… the Volkswagen Up hatchback turns up is frisky, don’t you think?

The rear engine on the Volkswagen Up hatchback has gone, alongside with the RWD configuration and replaced by frugal –three cylinder engine which installed under the hood of the frisky hatchback. We can’t figure out why Volkswagen Up is launched because as much as we like the cuteness – it’s yellow and radiant like the “Spongebob” aura – but this small hatchback seems no power inside and probably can’t compete with Honda Jazz, Toyota Yaris, or Suzuki Swift. Volkswagen tries to gain millions of attention for the Up! small hatchback by releasing a promotional teaser video. Never thought that something so small like Volkswagen Up needed this much of effort to gain attention.

The promotional teaser video for Volkswagen Up only lasted for 42 seconds which represent the joy because the small hatchback is about to come. The big unveiling for the small Volkswagen Up! hatchback will take place at 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show next month. The teaser video is showcasing an attractive young people jumping into the air, smiling, and seems can’t wait to see the Volkswagen Up. But, Volkswagen seems to forget one thing – where in the world is the Volkswagen Up? Oh, wait.. That is why Volkswagen refers it as “promotional teaser video”. The more curiosity Volkswagen Up! gains, so does the attention.

Volkswagen Up pretty much the same with the concept Volkswagen proposed. But, with the global economy still storming, will Volkswagen Up small hatchback survive the competition against other vehicles?

Another marketing strategy from Volkswagen Up small hatchback is rumors on the internet and online forums that the unveiling might be done online or at a special public event before September’s Frankfurt show. We still don’t know how we react on the arrival of Volkswagen Up small hatchback, just so you know that we are not as excited as the people on the promotional teaser video.
