A prototype of the upcoming Audi A3 Sedan was recently spotted suggesting that the vehicle is not far from series production. Originally presented at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, the new A3 sedan was anticipated to arrive sooner but for various reasons was delayed until now. It is expected to officially arrive at the end of this year in Frankfurt or Geneva.
Volkswagen's MQB platform (MkVIIGolf) will be the basis for building the A3 which will make the model much lighter than the current production A3. A 1.8 liter TFSI gasoline motor will drive the vehicle at approximately 180 horsepower, 183 foot pounds of torque. A 2.0 liter TDI diesel engine will be added at some point achieving about 184 hp + 280 foot pounds of torque.
The A3 sedan footprint is approximately 4.44 meters (14.57 ft) long x 1.84 meters (6.04 ft) wide x 1.39 meters (4.56 ft) in height. It will be virtually the same as the 3-door A3 hatchback along with the 5-door sportback. It also is about the same size as the B5 Audi A4. It is expected that at the A-Pillar area the sheet metal will become unique to the new A3.
The A3 will still retain some of its features from the original concept version. The engine performance will be reduced from the 408 horsepower, 2.5 liter @ 5 cylinder engine. The A3 will reach a 0 – 60 mph speed at approximately 7 seconds in conjunction with the S Tronic dual clutch transmission. Front wheel drive will act as standard with a potential all wheel Quattro drive on the horizon. The MQB platform has also been integrated with several fuel efficient drivetrains. In addition there will also be a conventional manual for the driving enthusiast.
The A3 exterior has a similar front fascia with LED-infused headlights to the current series production model. A small trunk for storage along with an integrated spoiler are a couple of its features.
The A3 interior will have a heavy dose of leather, circular dials, navigational controls, etc. Audi has encompassed its MMI interface system to engage the media and navigation functions on either a 5.8 inch or 7 inch display for easy viewing. The 2014 Audi A3 Sedan will hit the US Market sometime during the end of calendar year 2013 and will be a 2014 MY vehicle.

The good thing on being human is we have limitless imagination which if we do it for positive purposes; it can help open up other’s mind. The latest example on how colorful and creative our imagination is the rendering image of 2013 Audi A3 sedan. That is not reason, actually because the rendering image here is the proof that fans of Audi A3 is demanding the German automaker to develop the new model as soon as possible.
The current Audi A3 has been around since 2003 and no improvements what so ever up until now. Audi hinted that the new first A3 model they about to introduce could be the hatchback at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Well, we can’t wait that long and thanks to autoevolution.com, we can imagine how the 2013 Audi A3 sedan looks like. This model will complete the three- and five-door, Sportback, and Cabriolet of the A3 line-up.
It is understandable if the overall design on rendering image of 2013 A3 sedan a bit looks like Jetta because Audi is under the VW Group. Our aforementioned source mentioned that the length for the 2013 MY of A3 sedan around 4,550mm from front bumper to the rear bumper. The primary market segment for this sedan is obviously the US, but we think that Audi is also supplying the steady demand from Europe and China as well.
The prediction over the 2013 Audi A3 sedan continues as the engine possibility for this German vehicle could be the new three-cylinder powerplant with 1.2L of displacement. The engine could be running on diesel with total power output 75 horsepower. The last probability for the 2013 A3 sedan is that the German automaker could be designing the vehicle as FWD.
We have seen some spyshots of the Audi’s vehicles and we are missing something here – where is the Audi A3 sedan? Now, we think that Audi is the only carmaker that able to pull that off. Transforming certain model into another model surely needs years of experience and definitely group of people on R&D department that have think-out-of –the-box type of people. Take a look at the A3 sedan concept which obviously well-designed and of course, we just love the 408 horsepower under the bonnet.
Audi targeted next year’s Geneva Auto Show to be the perfect place of introductory for the production version of A3 sedan concept. If the A3 arrives at Geneva next year, it means that the German automaker is dropping the same time as the 3rd generation of the popular hatch. We just can’t help to think: which German rivals that the a3 is trying to take on?
The answer is pretty clear: the contenders for the Audi A3 sedan will be none other than the BMW 1-Series and the duo of Mercedes-Benz A-Class and B-Class. The A3 will be available on 4 body styles. Two of the variants will be carrying the MQB modular chassis courtesy of VW Group. Other models in the form of three-door hatch and convertible will be using 2,595mm-long wheelbase; 5-door Sportsback and four-door sedan offer 2,630 mm-long wheelbase.
After all these times, now we can get officially meet the 2012 BMW 3-Series F30. Yup, this 2012 3-Series is considered as the most important high-volume sedan for the global market. Since the car made in 1975, approximately 12 million 3-Series has been sold and the execs of the Bavarian automaker are pretty sure that the 2012 model year will be following the foot steps of its predecessors.
The 2012 3-Series F30 has some upgrades here and there and the highlights of the changes are in the overall proportions, smaller, elegant design, and dependable engine. The launched of the 2012 BMW 3-Series F30 is also marked the first mass-market hybrid version in form of ActiveHybrid 3.
In general, the line-up for the 2012 3-Series F30 sedan is the 328i and 335i with petrol engine; 320d and 320d EfficientDynamics with diesel engine. The prices for the European market are ranging from €35,350 for the 320d and 335i worth €43,600. Wonder where your money gone with that amount of money?
For the 320d as part of the 2012 BMW 3-Series F30 line-up, the sedan carries 184 horsepower and can hit 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in 7.5 seconds with top speed at 146 mph (235 km/h). The fuel consumption for US standard is 52.27 mpg (4.5L/100 km) with CO2 emission figures are 117g/km. If you choose the 320d EfficientDynamics is powered by the same 2.0L diesel engine that delivers 163 horsepower with CO2 emissions 109 g/km and we think that this is very useful for business owners that are dealing with emissions taxes.
The petrol engine for the 2012 3-Series F30 sedan is powered by the new 2.0L BMW TwinPower Turbo High Precision Direct Petrol Injection and equips with fully variable valve control. The power output is 245 horsepower and able to hit 0 to 100 km (62 mph) in 5.9 seconds with top speed at 250 km/h (155 mph).
Looking for the M3 series of the 2012 BMW 3-Series F30 line-up? That model is scheduled to arrive next year in form of 335i with 306 horsepower that comes from 3.0L V6 BMW TwinPower Turbo, High Precision Direct Petrol Injection and of course, the fully variable valve control. Take this sedan for a sprint in 5.5 seconds with limited top speed reaches at 250 km/h (155 mph).
We always know that tuning houses have certain things for German cars and this time, Tuningwerk shares us its latest creation in the form of BMW 750 Li. No, it’s merely not body kit, but an overall modification in and out. Now, how many tuning houses that offer two units of engine modification? The answer is some, right? And one of them is happen to be Tuningwerk. That’s right, Tuningwerk gave it all for the 7-Series sedan in the form of glorious two specially-tuned engines.
The Stage I of tuning pack for the BMW 750 Li by Tuningwerk is able to deliver 530 horsepower, as for the Stage II offers 720 horsepower. How is that for extra horsepower for the sedan, huh? Okay, here are the technical figures for both packages for the 750 Li sedan. The Stage I reaches 0 to 62 mph in just 4.2 seconds with top speed at 192.5 mph/310 km/h. Taking the Bimmer for a sprint with Stage II inside it will hit 0 to 62 mph in just 3.5 seconds with top speed around 217 mpg/350 km/h.
The fierce and mean BMW 750 Li by Tuningwerk also has upgraded parts to handle all the massive powers in the form of carbon-ceramic brakes system which we think that is state-of-the-art stopping system that connected to 396 mm rotors at the front axle. Tuningwerk applied some carbon fiber parts for the 750 Li that will be transforming the outer look of the sedan.
We have seen the coupe version, and now its time to see the sedan version of the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series. Yup… we spotted the prototype of the C63 AMG Black Series sedan running around at the ‘Ring – Nurburgring – with no camouflage sheet on. We draw some possibilities regarding the less camouflage sheet, we think that this prototype could be at the final stage of development; or this is an early prototype that which will be the marking some ground points for the more upgrading version of the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series.
Judging by the photos, the prototype Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series sedan has wider front and rear tracks, with the aerodynamic items that also functioned as a visual role to bring a fierce look. This prototype has been scheduled to hit the European market next year. Now that explains why the C63 AMG Black Series sedan has less camouflage sheet on it.
On the engine and performance part, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series sedan might be powered by naturally-aspirated 6.2L V8 which is being replaced by the twin-turbo 5.5L V8 that again, it follows the same engine for the coupe. With top speed reaches at 517 horsepower. Should we refer the C63 AMG Black Series sedan as sportscar sedan instead of ordinary sedan?
The 2012 BMW ActiveHybrid 5 is ready to give hybrid sedan new attitude. Alongside with its siblings ActiveHybrid 3 which is currently on progress, the Bavarian automaker wants to gain a bit of supremacy by giving hybrid vehicle a new luxury standard feature.
The 2012 ActiveHybrid 5 is combining the 3.0L TwinPower Turbo inline V6 that equips with an electric drive system coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It’s not purely hybrid, but we kudos Bavarian carmaker to be able to pull the hybrid sedan in the production form, not merely a concept. The additional electric motor responsible for giving a boost of 55 horsepower with the total power output will be 340 horsepower.
The base price for 2012 BMW ActiveHybrid 5 for German market is €62,900/$85,702. Wait… does it sound more expensive than the 535i, doesn’t it? Yes, we are afraid that is true as it costs €12,200 more expensive than the 535i which powered by the 3.0L turbocharged V6. If you are confuse which one you have to choose, let put it this way: buying the 2012 ActiveHybrid 5 means you do a little favor helping to save the mother nature; buying the 535i means you do care about the existence of the mother nature, but being a speed-addict is bit difficult to choose the hybrid sedan.
The hybrid powertrain on the 2012 BMW ActiveHybrid 5 brilliantly limits the fuel consumption around 6.4 and 7.0L per 100km (44 – 40 mpg). The CO2 emission figures for the 2012 ActiveHybrid 5 sedan score at 149 grams per km. One of the highlighted features on the hybrid 5-series is it can be driven electric-only mode with the top speed around 60 km/h (37 mph). Taking this hybrid sedan for a sprint, it will be able to hit 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.9 seconds with top speed at 155 mph (250 km/h).

Prior Design just released the styling kit for the BMW M3 sedan. Yup… the M3 makes the internet has been buzzing about the next generation of the German sedan.
