Each automaker has the star of their production such as Volkswagen with its Beetle, Porsche with its 911, BMW with its M-Series, and of course, Audi with its R8. This German sportscar has attracted many attentions and create its own die-hard fans. One of the noticeable features on R8 is the V10 engine that will rip off your ear when you hear the sound.

Now, customizing the Audi R8 is a bit tricky because its overall look is flawless and almost perfect. It’s like requesting Angelina Jolie to get her lips done which will make everything worst. But it doesn’t mean you can change the “innocent” appearance of the R8. Thanks to the tuning houses and their creative, out of the box way of thinking, what you see on the photo is Cinderella with new glass shoes.

Yes, the Cinderella with the new glass shoes is the Audi R8 that sits on multi-spoke, satin-finished HRE P43S alloy rims. Shoes number? We mean the tire size? It’s the killing 19-inch size, folks. You know, if the R8 sportscar is real life Cinderella, it can only raises one question: what kind of Prince suitable for her? Since this is German sportscar, all we can say is: who can be so lucky to own the R8 with HRE wheels?

If Cinderella has those beautiful dresses and tiaras, the Audi R8 carries fierce twin-turbo V10 engine. The engine compartment is made from carbon fiber and just to imagine how this sportscar will go on dyno test, it gives us the creep. Not the creep of scared, but more like the creep of knowing the engine capability of the R8 sportscar.

For the gamers, the name Audi R8 LMS is very familiar as the sportscar appears on one of the most famous racing game – the Gran Turismo 5. The biggest video games convention this year – the Gamescom which held in Cologne – Germany is the perfect for Audi to unveil its Audi R8 LMS simulator. To add things up, Audi invited Christopher Mies who is race driver that won the European GT3 champion in the Audi R8 LMS sports car in the Bathurst 12 Hours racing back in February.

What Sony  PlayStation and Audi wanted is that they want the fans of Gran Turismo 5 to be able to meet the Audi R8 LMS sportscar in flesh without imagining what the car look like. The Audi R8 LMS sportscar built by the Quattro GmbH in Neckarsulm for the actual simulator car, instead of converting a production version of Audi R8. For those who are curious, they can get into the Audi R8 LMS sportscar which covered with PlayStation graphics and feel the sensation of a sportscar offers and forget the joystick for awhile.

The Audi R8 LMS sporstcar also has the seat that usually mounted on the Audi GT3 race car. The roll cage of the R8 LMS has been simplified compared to the real version for easier access of the players. Jump here to watch the video about the Audi R8 LMS simulator.

Jurgen Zum – Head of Test and Production of Quattro GmbH shares his thought about the Audi R8 LMS sportscar, “We built up the base vehicle for the Audi R8 LMS simulator within six weeks. For many fans, playing a game that is as advanced as Gran Turismo 5 in our race car will no doubt be a unique experience.”

Starting the engine of the Audi R8 LMS simulator and you feel the adrenaline rush flowing all over your body. The paddle shifters, the racing authentic steering wheel, and pedals on the Audi R8 LMS are functional and connected to the PlayStation-3 as well. Plug the sound to the Dolby Surround system, and the sounds of the game are highly amplified into the cockpit of the Audi R8 LMS simulator. One thing that really amazed us, the suspensions on the Audi R8 LMS simulator are controlled by pneumatic cylinders which allowing the movements of the car up to 150mm. If only we could have the Audi R8 LMS sporstcar simulator in our office…
