Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG for 2006 MotoGP World Champion

After unexpected winning in Jerez race, where he finished on the 3rd podium, Nicky Hayden visited Affalterbach to bring home his brand new Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG from Ola Kallenius – CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmBH. The Kentucky Kid went for the special limited-series “Edition One” model.

Nicky Hayden who was the 2006 MotoGP World Championship owns the CLS 63 AMG which powered by AMG 5.5-liter V8 engine that provides 557 horsepower and a maximum torque reaches up to 800Nm. Not only that, the Kentucky Kid will also bring home an AMG engine cover in genuine carbon fiber, an AMG carbon fiber spoiler lip on the boot lid, red-painted brake calipers and an AMG performance steering wheel with Alcantara inserts in the grip area.

Ducati which is an Italian motorcycle manufacturer just now partnered with AMG in a move that will focus around joint marketing and sponsoring activities. For example, AMG will support Ducati MotoGP Team as the Official Car Partner from 2011.

Hayden shares his excitement, “My visitation to Affalterbach was a great opportunity because I was able to witness the enthusiasm and precision with which the staff at AMG work. You can really see the similarities with Ducati in Bologna. Ducati and AMG complement each other perfectly.”

Nicky Hayden was impressed not only by the skilled workmanship involved, but also by the exciting insight he was given a chance to take a look at the Performance Studio where he referred as “Truly the home of automotives dreams”. Nicky Hayden is looking forward to do some thorough test driving to get to know more of his Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG properly as soon as he back home in Kentucky.
