The New Brabus 800 Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Heads to Geneva

Every March, Geneva, Switzerland plays host to a vast array of automakers, car companies, media, and automotive enthusiasts as they showcase their newest models, innovative products, and newest technologies. Many automakers from around the world use the auto show as a platform to showcase their new models along with other aftermarket car tuning companies such as Brabus. At the 2013 Geneva International Auto Show, the German car tuning company will unveil its new 800 high performance model that boasts incredible speed and power along with exclusive luxuries. Based on the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG, the new 800 model takes the German sports car to a whole other level of performance, luxury, and style.

The Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG is one of the most powerful models in the SL-Class range, save for the hardcore, track-inspired SL 65 AMG Black Series Coupe. The SL 65 AMG model offers a great deal of drivability and comfort over its Black Series sibling, so it was the perfect choice for Brabus to upgrade into its new 800 model. The upgrade starts with a new exterior design package that equips the super car with a new front bumper with integrated spoiler and new engine hood with ventilation to cool the engine more efficiently. New side skirts run towards the rear where a new trunk spoiler and rear diffuser help to generate downforce at high speeds for better stability.

The German engineering team then focused on the engine of the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG. The super car comes standard with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V-12 engine that is packed with potential. Engineers were able to tap into this potential through the use of the Brabus T65 engine upgrade program that pushes power to the 800-horsepower mark. The upgrades included in the program include two new turbochargers, a set of four water-to-air intercoolers, a new air intake system, a new stainless steel exhaust with sport catalytic converters, and a new ECU tune with performance mapping. After the T65 engine program is installed, the motor creates 800 horsepower and 1,420 Newton Meters of torque at the rear wheels that had to be electronically limited to 1,100 Newton Meters.

Due to the tremendous power being created by the 6.0-liter V-12 engine, Brabus engineers had to reinforce many parts of the chassis and drivetrain. A new in-house differential was installed at the rear axle to help achieve better grip and handle the extra power. The factory ABC air suspension was upgraded with a new electronic module that can automatically lower the ride height of the 800 model.

Inside the 800 model, customers will be able to custom-design the entire cockpit with a range of soft leather and alcantara fabrics. A host of trim pieces, wood, and carbon fiber finishes are also available for the dashboard, console, and doors. Customers can even opt for custom stitching for an extra special touch of luxury.

The experts of the Industry are expecting the specs to be of a mid or upper level variant of the car we know as Volkswagen Golf. Mercedes Benz – 2013 BLS 4 Door Coupe

Mercedes Benz BLS – Many auto aficionados are referring to the BLS as a "baby CLS" or as the media has promoted the "younger brother CLS-class." The 4-door coupe BLS will be a lot like a small version CLS if you looking for a reference vehicle.  It will be front-wheel drive and based on the MFA platform shared with the upcoming next-generation A-Class and B-Class series models.  Further down the road there may be a case to include all wheel drive variants.  Many experts are reasonably confident that the BLS will capture features of the CLS-Class Sedan and F800 Concept vehicles.

The Mercedes Benz BLS will be a compact sedan/coupe.  The upcoming new four-door sedan/coupe model being created by Mercedes Benz is based on the next-generation A-Class/B-Class (MFA) platform.  Perhaps it will carry the CLC name which references its "bigger brother" lead title.  It is more likely to be named BLS or somehow being cross-referenced to the B-Class Platform thus taking its place within the B-Class family of variants.

Since this is primarily a Mercedes Benz B-Class sedan, motor/engine options will be common or shared with its sister model and include a 2.0 liter capacity with 203 PS (149 kW / 200 bhp).  It will also have a 2.2 liter capacity diesel engine with 172 PS (127 kW / 170 bhp). The Torque is going to be somehow delivered to the front wheels through a six-step mechanical gearbox or other technical manipulation.  The engineering is still being worked out.

In 2012, Mercedes Benz Mexico Co-President Bruno Cattore indicated that the company was planning to build a new facility in Mexico.  That decision has now changed with the official direction to utilize their assembly plant in Kecskemét, Hungary.

The vehicle is slated to come out in 2013/2014.

Stay tuned.

Mercedes Benz is known for capturing people’s imagination over a their life times. Mercedes-Benz vehicles typically offer high residual values, low maintenance expenses and highly efficient fuel economy features.

C Class 2015 – Mercedes Benz

C Class 2015

The next-generation Mercedes-Benz C Class Sedan Prototype has been seen once again.  The 2015 C Class includes some "minor revisions" to the overall shape and design of Mercedes previous model.  The new C Class will have distinctly styled trim levels.  The Benz platform – W205 will capture the new C Class which will be the first car to be included in Mercedes Benz new MRA “Mercedes rear-wheel drive” architecture.  The 2015 MY Mercedes Next-Gen C Class Sedan will first arrive in Europe during the spring of 2014.

As a continuation of the C63 AMG, Mercedes plans to have two renditions of the M157, a twin turbo charged V-8 @ 5.5 liter.  Mercedes engineers feel that this will generate between 450 hp and 525 hp.  The base vehicle will have a 1.6-liter engine which pumps out at 150 hp.  A  turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 engine will also be available manufacturing up to 330 hp.  The four-cylinder M274 engines are based on the current B-class (M270).  A 2.0-liter engine pushing 206 hp is targeted for the Hybrid model.  A high-performance AMG model will come complete with a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V-8 engine.  Mercedes engineers are estimating around 450 horsepower for the V-8 package.

The drivetrain will likely be an 8 or potentially even a 9 speed automatic fitted.  A turbocharged 1.8 liter engine is envisioned for the base model.  The V-6 engine will stay along with a plethura of diesel engines including a new hybrid variety.  The hybrid will include two four cylinder engines with an electric motor.  The motor will be postioned in between the gearbox and engine.  Similar to the 2013 SL Class, the new C Class will grow on a lighter material structure.  Both aluminium and composite materials will be utilised.

Based on the prototype it appears that Mercedes C Class designers are taking a conservative approach in regards to the styling of the new vehicle.  In a nutshell, Mercedes is taking BMW’s lead (from the 2012 3-Series ) by maintaining the previous model’s overall shape and size but detailing matters a bit more.  The body appears more horizontal and stretched while the headlights are current and functional.  The rear of the vehicle remains a mystery but it appears to be heading towards a cross between the CLS and new SL Class Styling.  Its interior has been vastly upgraded.  Shrouded parts are evident for the exterior as well for most of the interior affected components.  A "sport package" will be included which was concept driven and developed in conjunction with AMG.

In  late 2014 or perhaps the following year the new C Class will be manufactured at the Mercedes’ plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  It is expected that both wagon and coupe models will be produced  along with a first new C Class Convertible design.  Twenty Percent of its overall production will come out of Mercedes Tuscaloosa, Alabama plant.  The 2015 C Class is being marketed for consumers in the USA so the Alabama connection is a real positive.  Manufacturing overseas has its benefits in regards to cost, however the local U.S. plant can provide fast delivery along eliminating any overseas shipping expenses.  Vehicles in the U.S. will arrive in the fall of 2014 for the wagon and coupe models.
