Spawn Production Model of Volkswagen Cross Coupe Ready in 2013

Volkswagen Cross Coupe

The first time we spotted the Volkswagen Cross Coupe was during the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show and it presented as concept that ready for production. The VW Group needs to rush their production line up as they want to be recognized as the most productive automaker in the world. The Cross Coupe will be arriving as production compact crossover form for the next three years and using the VW Golf as the platform.

No wonder Das Auto seems to be very confident to fasten the Volkswagen Cross Coupe production as they don’t need to develop new platform. We know that Das Auto has to use the compact crossover model as efficient as possible as the platform can be built for multiple versions; including the odd “coupe” which VW Group thinks it will be attractive for their customers.

We still do not know whether the Volkswagen Cross Coupe will get new styling cues or stay as a 4-door version compact crossover. The styling cues are somehow redefined the usual styling on Volkswagen’s SUV line-up as well. Yup… Das Auto is looking for any new styling and design because they want to conquer the US market and what the US market interested in buying the VW is no longer involving the Beetle, but bigger vehicle. Bigger vehicle here refers to seven-seater SUV which means that the Cross Coupe is the only perfect candidate for this job.

2013 Audi A4 sedan

The 2013 Audi A4 just rolled out from the surgery and got a facelifted. As one of the best-selling vehicles from Audi, the 2013 A4 is available in mid-size sedan, Avant (wagon), Allroad Quattro and S4 versions. No need to look for the RS4 as that vehicle is filling another class segment. So, let’s get started undressing the 2013 Audi A4, shall we?

What we want to share with you is about the dimension of all models on 2013 Audi A4. The 2013 A4 sedan and Avant are 4.70m (15.42 ft) long; the Quattro and S4 are 4.72m (15.49 ft) in length. The 2013 Audi A4 is powered by the new 1.8L TFSI petrol engine which we don’t quite sure whether this is going for the US market or not and this engine offers 170 horsepower. Audi also revised the 2.0L TDI diesel engine which is going to deliver in three different powers: 136, 163, and 170 horsepower. Tuning Series: V-CT Kit for Porsche Cayenne by Vorsteiner

 Vorsteiner Porsche Cayenne V-CT Kit

Our tuning series for today will be discussing about the V-CT kit for Porsche Cayenne courtesy of Vorsteiner. If we put the Cayenne in an analogical form of a child, what do you think? We think that the Cayenne is one spoiled kid; it’s like Paris Hilton with her white Lexus LFA, her poor pink Bentley, and of course, her itsy bitsy Chihuahua doggie.

As for the Porsche Cayenne, the luxury crossover has been achieving new aftermarket gifts from all tuning houses in the world and somehow, manages to show the – endless – other side of Cayenne. So, who is guilty to bring another aftermarket kit for Porsche Cayenne?

It will be Vorsteiner, ladies and gents. The tuning house has just presented new customization package for the current generation of Porsche 958 Cayenne dubbed as “V-CT” kit. Unfortunately, the tuning package only targets the cosmetic department which means that the engine will stay the same.

Now, the V-CT kit for Porsche Cayenne from Vorsteiner is in the form of an aerodynamic package that includes the V-CT designation such as side-skirts, a rear bumper with a diffuser, front fascia, and of course – the roof spoiler.

Moving on, Vorsteiner also offers other technical stuffs for the Cayenne luxury crossover in form of a set of custom rims with multi-spoke design and titanium exhaust system which both are contributed for saving some weights off. For your information, the exhaust system is available only for the Porsche Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo. The V-CT kit will be ready for sale at the end of this year.

Spyshots: 2013 Audi RS4 Avant

2013 Audi RS4 Avant

The arrival of Audi Q3 to the US soil might be delayed but for the 2013 Audi RS4 Avant crossover, its time to show some skin. Well, not actual skin, more like prototype which covers with heavy camouflage all over it. Yes, folks… Audi has brought its new 2013 RS4 Avant for some test drive.

Judging by the heavy camouflage, the 2013 Audi RS4 Avant crossover does not even close with the final developing. We predict that what makes the customers fond of the upcoming crossover is because it looks aggressive, and that is what it needs.

Okay, we leave the bodywork behind as we would like to talk about the engine. So, here are our predictions: the 2013 Audi RS4 Avant could be powered by the same engine which powered the RS5 – 4.2L with 450 horsepower, 4.0L with 434 horsepower from Audi S6 and S7. Or, the 2013 RS4 Avant crossover would be getting the downsized forced of V6 which able to give 400 horsepower. The last engine option probably will definitely disappoint the Audi and RS fans.

Whatever the engine choice will be, the 2013 Audi RS4 Avant should have the same power as the BMW M3 and Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG as they will be competing head-to-head. That is it for the performance part as we are trying to unwrap those heavy camouflages all over the 2013 RS4 Avant. Although its just a prototype, the crossover shows some alloy wheels, more aggressive front end with bigger intakes, and two big exhaust tips round the back.

The interior might be the combination of fine leather and stiffer racing seats which we know it always been the signature of RS model. The 2013 Audi RS4 Avant might be ready sometime next year and we don’t know whether it will go for sale on the US market or not.

US Debut for Audi Q3 in Question

2012 Audi Q3

The Audi Q3 still contributes the biggest chunks of sales figures in the crossover segment in US market. So, any upgrades or improvements on the German crossover will be very important to maintain their market on the US soil. The problem is, the new Audi Q3 is still under construction at the R&D department, but the execs of the German automaker still hold the release form for the crossover to be able to sell at Uncle Sam.

Rumor has it that the Audi Q3 will be undergoing facelift program in three years time. Johan de Nysschen – President of Audi of America at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show stated, “We have to look at the economic feasibility, and it has to hit targets. We have to overcome certain challenges.”

The biggest challenge if Audi wants to market the Q3 crossover to US, they need to keep the price tag as lower as possible. Okay, lower price for Audi Q3? Can the German car manufacturer achieve that goal? We pretty much doubt it because crossover usually carries mid-size engine and the competition on the SUV segment is pretty stiff in Uncle Sam’s market.

Peter Schwarzenbauer – Audi AG board member for sales and marketing says, “I think the U.S. is ready for a car below the Q5.” Just for reminder, the introductory of Audi Q3 in US which put on hold is not the only case, other German carmakers – BMW – also delay their X1 without further follow up.
