The New Brabus 800 Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG Heads to Geneva

Every March, Geneva, Switzerland plays host to a vast array of automakers, car companies, media, and automotive enthusiasts as they showcase their newest models, innovative products, and newest technologies. Many automakers from around the world use the auto show as a platform to showcase their new models along with other aftermarket car tuning companies such as Brabus. At the 2013 Geneva International Auto Show, the German car tuning company will unveil its new 800 high performance model that boasts incredible speed and power along with exclusive luxuries. Based on the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG, the new 800 model takes the German sports car to a whole other level of performance, luxury, and style.

The Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG is one of the most powerful models in the SL-Class range, save for the hardcore, track-inspired SL 65 AMG Black Series Coupe. The SL 65 AMG model offers a great deal of drivability and comfort over its Black Series sibling, so it was the perfect choice for Brabus to upgrade into its new 800 model. The upgrade starts with a new exterior design package that equips the super car with a new front bumper with integrated spoiler and new engine hood with ventilation to cool the engine more efficiently. New side skirts run towards the rear where a new trunk spoiler and rear diffuser help to generate downforce at high speeds for better stability.

The German engineering team then focused on the engine of the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG. The super car comes standard with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V-12 engine that is packed with potential. Engineers were able to tap into this potential through the use of the Brabus T65 engine upgrade program that pushes power to the 800-horsepower mark. The upgrades included in the program include two new turbochargers, a set of four water-to-air intercoolers, a new air intake system, a new stainless steel exhaust with sport catalytic converters, and a new ECU tune with performance mapping. After the T65 engine program is installed, the motor creates 800 horsepower and 1,420 Newton Meters of torque at the rear wheels that had to be electronically limited to 1,100 Newton Meters.

Due to the tremendous power being created by the 6.0-liter V-12 engine, Brabus engineers had to reinforce many parts of the chassis and drivetrain. A new in-house differential was installed at the rear axle to help achieve better grip and handle the extra power. The factory ABC air suspension was upgraded with a new electronic module that can automatically lower the ride height of the 800 model.

Inside the 800 model, customers will be able to custom-design the entire cockpit with a range of soft leather and alcantara fabrics. A host of trim pieces, wood, and carbon fiber finishes are also available for the dashboard, console, and doors. Customers can even opt for custom stitching for an extra special touch of luxury.

All-Chromed Brabus Mercedes-Benz SLR Mclaren Spotted in London

All-Chromed Brabus Mercedes SLR Mclaren

Despite having been replaced by the SLS, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren is one of the world’s most fascinating sports cars. It gets even better when the people that constantly think perfect isn’t good enough, Brabus, by letting customers feel the SLR further individualize their vehicle. However, some Arab millionaire billionaire gentleman has gone a step beyond that and has chromed out his example.

We wouldn’t have known this fact were it not for the efforts of Youtube user Marchettino, who seems to always be at right time in the right place. This amazing chromed Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren sports car even has metallic tint on its windows, and those wheels are perfect for it. It seems that the owner of the car has also brought some equally rich friends along, as we spotted the stunning new Koenigsegg Agera R-bach there.

The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren SLR sports car sits on Brabus Monoblock VI 20-inch alloy wheels mounted on high-performance Pirelli or Yokohama tires in sizes 255/30 ZR 20 and 305/25 ZR 20.

In terms of mechanical changes, the power tuning for the supercharged 5.5-liter (335.5 cu. in.) engine consists of special camshafts, a fuel cooling system and a high-performance exhaust that increase the power output of the V8 compressor engine of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren sports car by 24 hp to 650 hp at 6,500 rpm.

Thanks to all that German grunt, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren sports car storms to 100 km/h (62 mph) from rest in just 3.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of up to 340 km/h (211 mph).

We don’t know what’s inside the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren sports car, but give that Brabus has had their hands on it, it all depends on the owners wallet. Regardless, there should be a sport steering wheel with integrated buttons for manual shifting of the automatic transmission of Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren sports car, carbon-fiber on the dashboard, center console and door trim somewhere in there. What if the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren got all chromed out inside as well?
