The 2012 BMW M5 sedan is here as the blue sedan got its official introductory at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. Although it comes in blue, we still can sense the hidden power of the 2012 BMW M5. Don’t be fooled by the looks of the 2012 BMW M5 as the Bavarian carmaker filled the sedan with so many cool features that it’s hard not to notice it.
The 2012 BMW M5 sedan is powered by a 4.4L twin-turbocharged V8 engine. Well…. It seems like the Bavarian carmaker puts engine diet for the 2012 BMW M5, don’t you think? To ring the bell for you, the previous generation of the 2012 BMW M5 was powered by more exotic but not-so-much powerful 5.0L V10. The new engine for the 2012 BMW M5 sedan is also the same engines unit which are powered the X5 M and X6 M and giving power output around 560 horsepower.
The more power V8 engine under the hood of the 2012 BMW M5 sedan is more powerful and yet it has sensible fuel economy usage. The figures are at 99.L/100 km (23.8 mpg) and those figures can be achieved thanks to the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and an electrically controlled active differential which specifically designed for the 2012 BMW M5.
Unfortunately, we only spotted the 2012 BMW M5 in sedan form, no sign of the station wagon form. We all know that the Americans are preferring the 2012 BMW M5 in the form of station wagon because that is how the Bavarian carmaker gets its highest market share.
So, what does the 2012 BMW M5 sedan against here? Which one is its biggest challenger? We think that the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG is one 2012 BMW M5 challengers. No officially price tag announced by the Bavarian auto manufacturer, but we suppose the 2012 BMW M5 will not be affordable sedan.
