You know, the term Black Series in AMG has nothing to do with black color. But, the funny thing is, we spotted the 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series did winter test drive covered in um… well, black camouflage sheet that radiates mysterious aura but still can’t cover the masculinity and the sportiness of the German coupe sportscar. The 2014 SLS AMG Black Series is all about sportscar with AMG power under the hood, simple doors, and for the next model, Mercedes decided to make it a little bit more radical.
Judging by the spyshots, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series is wider and beefier. According to autoevolution.com, the engine which powered this long-nose German sportscar is 6.2L that offers 660 horsepower or perhaps the muscular version of the new 5.5L V8 bi-turbo. So, why all of a sudden the three-pointed German carmaker deployed the prototype for winter test?
Apparently, Mercedes-Benz is really annoyed with the arrival of the Ferrari F12berlinetta and Lamborghini Aventador J where both unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Now, the Italian Prancing Horse is scoring the most powerful normally aspirated supercar this year and it would be so wrong to let this supercar to rule the superworld alone, right? That is why the prototype of 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series deployed to compete with the Italian supercar. Although it is still in prototype form, we like it already because it has everything in our check list that matches for head-to-head with F12berlinetta. Then again, we are talking AMG performance here and so far, they never let you down, right?
