Mercedes-Benz is really more unlucky this month. After some time ago, Mercedes-Benz M-Class should be withdrawn from the market because of problems cruise control. This time Mercedes-Benz announced that they have recalled Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedans (cars with chassis code W212) and Estates (cars with chassis code S212).
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) states that there is a 41 sedans and hatchback which are having problems in the vibration damper in the engine compartment. The adhesive between the vibration damper and its mass damper inner ring is not strong. Thus, the possibility of two devices get separate is enormous. This can be very dangerous for anyone who was repairing the car or are close by.
Car owners are expected to bring their cars to the dealer to get repaired for free immediately. The withdrawal itself has been started since 11 April 2011. To find out if the car is included the car that is recalled. So car owners are asked to check their car manufacture date by looking at the sticker on the driver-side door Jamb.
For those of you who want to find out further information. You can contact the Mercedes call center (800-367-6372) or the NHTSA vehicle safety hotline (888-327-4236). Hopefully Mercedes-Benz could overcome this as soon as possible.
