If Lamborghini confirmed that they are currently working on the SUV, the Mercedes-Benz also announced that they are also working on urban delivery vehicle. In short, the three-pointed German automaker is working on a van. Yes…. A van folks, a Mercedes-Benz Citan to be exact. The reason why the German automaker develops this van is because they see that their customers are in need of daily operations for city ride.
The Citan urban delivery van will make its official debut at IAA Commercial Vehicle Show inHanoveron September and scheduled for selling this fall. Autoevolution.com reported that the Mercedes-Benz Citan is a panel van, a crewbus, and blend of multi-purpose vehicle that has multi lengths and weights. In term of engine and performance, the urban van will be powered by fuel-efficient gasoline and diesel engine with including the BlueEfficiency package and an electric drive model has been planning to arrive on the Citan model line-up.
Here is the official statement from Mercedes-Benz about the Citan urban delivery van as we quoted from our aforementioned source, “The Citan’s operation, interior, materials, and workmanship are of the same high quality as in other Mercedes-Benz vans. The new urban delivery van can therefore be justly called the “little brother” of the Sprinter and Vito, to which it is in no way inferior. As is the case with every Mercedes-Benz vehicle, safety plays a big role in the new van, all variants of which come with ESP as standard.”
