The arrival of Mr. Wolfgang Duerheimer as the new leader of the Bentley and Bugatti provide a cool breeze to the company. After previously giving the green light to manufacture Bugatti Galibier, this time Mr. Duerheimer seems also will stir up the Bentley’s crew with new product creation, Bentley Turbo R. This concept car certainly will be very fast, but a little expensive when compared with the 2011 Bentley Continental GT.
For Bentley, Turbo R is not a new model; they produced it in 1985. However, the production was stopped since 1994. Formerly, Bentley Turbo R is a version of Turbo Mulsanne which is made stronger. However, since the arrival of Mike Dunn as chief engineer, the Bentley Turbo R was also experiencing development. Mr. Dunn had a design change with the addition of Enlarged antiroll bars, a Panhard rod, and self-leveling rear suspension.
The newest Bentley Turbo R will be using V8 turbocharged engine in which the driver can reach speeds of 60 km in just 6.7 seconds. The speed is almost close to the supercar speed acceleration. This concept car is likely to be coupe -based car, the same as the all-new Mulsanne model. Bentley Turbo R was also expected to get close to Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe.
We do not yet know how much this newest Bentley Turbo R later on. Apparently, the price offered little more expensive. However, with the promised performance of this concept car, the price did not seem like a major problem. We will wait and see in 2014, the year when the car is planned to be marketed.
