2012 Geneva Motor Show: Bentley EXP 9 F Concept
The mysterious clouds over the long-rumored luxury SUV from Bentley have been officially answered on the floor of 2012 Geneva Motor Show where the Bentley EXP 9 F Concept silenced the public and at the same time rise questions about this concept. We previously reported that the EXP 9 Concept SUV is going to be unveiled at the aforementioned auto event and we thought it was just a plain rumor as we haven’t got any proof of leaked photos what so ever on the luxury SUV concept. The official photos of the SUV concept are the only marketing media which Bentley has to offer us, but also a video which you can watch here.
So, what’s story with the awkward model of the Bentley EXP 9 F Concept? We like the idea that Bentley is trying to break out boundaries and creating some kind of breakthrough design, but serious, folks… is this what you have in mind when we refer Bentley SUV to you? According to autoblog.com, the styling is imaginative and puzzling as the same time which might be the result of the 2nd year students who are studying Photoshop application.
What Bentley tries to propose with the EXP 9 Concept SUV is they combine the styling cues and design from Mulsanne and Continental models. You can see it on the front, ride height, and the liftback hatch for last minute escape from mafia who kidnapped you. On the interior which Bentley kind enough to share by providing the SUV concept with see-through glass window, you can see that the interior still carries luxury aesthetic parts.
On the engine and performance, the Bentley EXP 9 F Concept is powered by the 6.0L W12 engine which also serves the Continental for many years. We know that Bentley is currently developing hybrid, which is why this SUV concept has big possibility powered by V8 with help from an electric motor and battery pack to create world’s largest and least efficient plug-in hybrid SUV. No official info whether the EXP 9 Concept will go for production or not as Bentley emphasizes that the vehicle stays as SUV concept at this moment.
