New Engine for the US-Spec of 2013 Audi A8
The 2012 Detroit Auto Show has ended and the auto show left pretty much brand new info about the upcoming vehicles. One important announcement is about the engine for the US-spec of 2013 Audi A8. What does Audi has to offer for the next-gen of the 2013 A8 sedan? We already got the A8 hybrid, could this one offers brand new engine spec for US customers?
Audi announced that the 2013 A8 sedan will be powered by 3.0T engine. Okay, we are as confuse as you are, folks because it is the first time Audi puts code on their engine spec. The “T” on the 3.0T doesn’t stand for turbocharging, but supercharging. A German sedan with supercharging engine under its hood? Just like whatUScustomers need and Audi’s ace card to snatch those potential premium customers.
Autoevolution.com wrote that the flagship of 2013 Audi A8 sedan will be powered by a supercharged 3.0L V6. The total power output is 333 horsepower with peak torque 325 lb-ft.The German carmaker also improved the engine for the 2013 A8 sedan with start/stop technology for both short- and long-wheelbase as well. Is it just us or this particular engine spec for USmarket sounds familiar?
Of course the 3.0T engine for 2013 Audi A8 is familiar because this engine already powered the other vehicles from VW Group such as the Audi S4 and the Porsche Cayenne Hybrid. TheUS market will also get the 3.0L V6 TDI diesel for the 2013 A8 sedan. Sadly, no performance details to be shared at the moment which means that we have to be patient.
