Bugatti is in the final pre-production evaluation of its newest and most assuredly final rendition of the Veyron 16.4 theme, also known as the Grand Sport Vitesse.   The original version had 1001 horsepower, 16 cylinders and two V8 engines formed at the crank.   Much of the prototype engineering can be directed to the accomplishments of Jens Schulenburg/Chief Vehicle Bugatti engineer (10 years at Bugatti).  The prototype Bugatti Vitesse has approximately 300+ temperature probes and carries two data loggers.  There is also a blue Racelogic VBOX mounted on the windshield and displays recorded data – It is sampled/calculatied @ 100 times per second! The Vitesse is being classified as a "super car" and has the legacy of racing driver Pierre Veyron (raced for the original Bugatti car manufacturer) who won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1939.

Bugatti Vitesse Fuel/Speed

The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport can empty its 26.4-gallon fuel tank in 12 minutes while running at its top speed. The Vitesse including its additional 200 hp can complete the task in 10.3 minutes.  Rumor has it that Michelin won't guarantee its tires at speeds above 250 mph for more than 15 minutes for the Vitesse.  Believe it or not, but where the rear license plate typically is located, the Vitesse currently carries a yellow card displaying: "HIGH SPEED TEST VEHICLE APPROVED BY GOVERNMENT".  The Bugatti shows no signs of slowing down even above 185 mph.  A lot of drivers would like to show the government a thing or two as they cruise at high speeds to their selected designation.  Needless to say, The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is an incredibly fast vehicle!

The vehicle must establish complete precision as it will undoubtedly battle challenging harsh environmental  and various road conditions.  All processes – thermodynamic, mechanical and aerodynamic must work together like gears in a clock.  The Bugatti Vitesse can be steered with just a couple of fingers on the wheel or a knee movement here and there – cabin turbulence is minimized.  The word "Vitesse" is  translated into "French for speed”.  The Vitesse is a combination of two major existing Veyon variations:  1) Super Sport, which produces 1200 horsepower from its quad-turbo 8.0-liter W-16, and 2) Targa-topped Grand Sport. It could have been labeled a Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Super Sport.

If you have the need for speed and power along with a boat filled with cash – then the Bugatti Grand Sport Vitsse may fit your bill !
