Here is the series of spyshots of 2014 BMW 1-Series Gran Turismo which we have been waiting for as the other series have been spotted and might head for production floor anytime soon. The Bavarian automaker is no longer using the RWD and switched into AWD for their SUV models. So, what does the 2014 1-Series Gran Turismo have to offer?
Although most fans and automotive enthusiasts are not in the same page with BMW’s decision left the RWD, but perhaps the 2014 1-Series Gran Turismo SUV could change your vision. Okay, we mentioned earlier that the Bavarian carmaker is choosing the AWD, but for the 2014 BMW 1-Series Gran Turismo, much likely featuring the FWD a.k.a front-wheel drive.
One thing that makes us a bit surprise because the 2014 1-Series Gran Turismo SUV could be expecting share the modular platform with the upcoming MINI Cooper. This was hinted by BMW’s Chairman of the Board – Norbert Reithofer.
As we quoted from autoevolution.com, the Norbert Reithofer commented on the sharing platform with MINI on last year’s Geneva Motor Show, “We will be extending the BMW and Mini brands into the small-car segment with new models and variants. For these new vehicles we could envisage developing a common architecture for both front- and four-wheel drive.”
On the engine and performance part, the 2014 BWM 1-Series Gran Turismo might be using the new 3-cylinder turbo engines. And that is about the German SUV that we can share for you at the moment.
We had seen the rendering image, and now the spyshots of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS shooting brake. We are excited as the SUV is not covered in all those camouflage sheet all over the body. The only part that covered in camouflage sheet is the back end. The three-pointed German automaker stated that the 2012 CLS will be assembled on the Sindelfingen plant where the other models such as C-Klasse sedan, E-Klasse sedan and estate, S-Klasse, and CL coupe, as well as the Maybach models and Mercedes-Benz Guard. Wow… that is one crowd facility, don’t you think?
The 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS will be sharing the same platform with the E-Klasse sedan. This plan has been confirmed by Dieter Zetsche as we quoted from autoevolution.com, “The decision to build the CLS Shooting Brake underscores the leading role of Mercedes-Benz in regards of innovative passenger car concepts and design – and that is exactly what the customers expect from us.”
For the engine and performance line-up, the 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS shooting brake SUV could be borrowed the engine from the 4-door coupe sibling and we really have great expectation to see the AMG version too. Okay, the engine possibility is the 5.5L twin-turbo V8. Rumor has it that the new 4-cylinder engine could be appeared on the line-up as well.
Do you know what is missing from the 2012 model year of Porsche 911 Cabriolet? That is right, the soft-top version. Do not mean to let down the 911 hard-top fans, but the sportscar in soft-top and convertible form is more than just awesome. It’s stunning and amazing at the same time as we can feel the wind on each acceleration.
The leaked design for the soft-top version of the Porsche 911 Cabriolet was founded by the autoevolution.com from an online forum. In a glance, the soft-top shows Semirigid structure to the retractable roof design. It seems like the German automaker has no intention to use the soft fabric no more as the design has three parts which are stiffer and then covered over the top by the fabric.
The leaked design could be the official soft-top for the 911 Cabriolet because judging by the dimension, this will fit perfectly on the car which was spotted testing recently. Still from the leaked design, we also found out that the retracted roof is now away with the rigid tonneau cover at the back.
An anonymous source stated that the Semirigid roof for the Porsche 911 Cabriolet is could be completed with an optional sunroof that is made from a large tinted glass or aluminum panel where they will be placed on top of the roof. If you have difficulties imagining it, the top configuration might be similar to the MINI Cabrio.
The canvas for the Porsche 911 Cabriolet should be weatherproof and fixed permanently to the whole area of the first and fourth panel, the one with the glass top. The top design for the 911 Cabriolet might be the first design of tightly stuck fabric on the cabriolet and mounted on the 911 roof.
Question: How is the Volkswagen Golf blue-e-motion concept doing? We are so caught up with the new Beetle and other Volkswagen’s project and we almost forget about this car’s existence. Okay, the idea of bringing back the subject and the spotlight to the Golf blue-e-motion concept is because the prototype of this electric vehicle will be joining the 2011 RAC Future Car Challenge along side with three other cars.
The 2011 RAC Future Car Challenge takes routes from Madeira Drive in Brighton to Pall Mall in London. During this event, the vehicles such as the Volkswagen Golf blue-e-motion concept will be measured for the energy they use as the winning vehicle will be determine by the one that uses less fuel/energy.
Just so you know, the Golf blue-e-motion concept electric vehicle is based on the 6th generation hatchback that delivers 115 horsepower from the specially-designed electric motor. The electric motor gets its juice from group of lithium-ion batteries that have total capacity of 26.5 kWh. So, what makes the Volkswagen Golf blue-e-motion concept different from other electric vehicles? It lies on its practicality where Das Auto offers 279L of boot space and the overall looks obviously different from standard car as this German electric vehicle has not have covered over the grilles.
The Volkswagen Golf blue-e-motion concept represents the future technology for VW’s electric vehicle program. The first production version of the Golf blue-e-motion concept has scheduled to go for sale in 2013 and also the electric version for the Up as well.
The 2013 Audi A4 just rolled out from the surgery and got a facelifted. As one of the best-selling vehicles from Audi, the 2013 A4 is available in mid-size sedan, Avant (wagon), Allroad Quattro and S4 versions. No need to look for the RS4 as that vehicle is filling another class segment. So, let’s get started undressing the 2013 Audi A4, shall we?
What we want to share with you is about the dimension of all models on 2013 Audi A4. The 2013 A4 sedan and Avant are 4.70m (15.42 ft) long; the Quattro and S4 are 4.72m (15.49 ft) in length. All models have few things in common, namely the wheelbase (2.81m/9.22 ft), width (1.83m/6.0ft and 1.84m/96.04 ft), height is from 1.41m (4.63 ft) up to 1.50m (4.92 ft). Step inside, all models have new steering wheels, and trimming options and few additional details.
On the engine and performance side, the 2013 A4 carries upgrades which lead to reduce the average fuel consumption by up to 11%. For the European customers, Audi offers the A4 in four petrol units and six diesel engines; for the US market, the options are two or three petrol engines. Here is the complete detail for the engine as we start with the petrol unit.
The 2013 Audi A4 is powered by the new 1.8L TFSI petrol engine which we don’t quite sure whether this is going for the US market or not and this engine offers 170 horsepower. Audi also revised the 2.0L TDI diesel engine which is going to deliver in three different powers: 136, 163, and 170 horsepower. Other technical improvements for the 2013 A4 are including the redesigned suspension and the new electromechanical power steering.
It just yesterday BMW unveiled the Z4 models for the UK market and since that, there has been rumor that mentioned the Bavarian automaker is currently working the case for the Z4 M with their M Division. Okay, before we jump even deeper into this rumor/the truth, let’s see the reasons why BMW got this rumor. Suppose that the Bavarian carmaker does developing the case for the Z4 M sportscar, it is understandable because the competition is getting stiffer than ever. Stiffer competition means every carmaker has to find way to please their customers and to attract more prospective customers.
After some diggings, we found out that BMW’s little project on the case for Z4 M is true. As we quoted from autoevolution.com, Albert Biermann – Head of Product Development at BMW stated, “There are days when it hurts not to have one, but there was no compelling business case at the time when the decision was taken. We are trying to make a case but there are so many factors to consider.”
Let’s make that statement more clear: BMW has the resources to make a case for the Z4 M, and yet, there are other priorities which make the project have to step down couple of steps and no longer in top priority. Another rumor stated that even if the Bavarian carmaker creates a case, it could be for the M2 which is based on the new 2-Series, not for the Z4. Just so you know, the 2-Series is intended to be a light sportscar that could be available in coupe and convertible configuration. Guess we just have to wait what this project will be, right?
The most asked question: when will the 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG get its introductory? The wait is over folks as the three-pointed German automaker has chose the perfect venue so we can witness the SUV that brings lots of horses under its hood. Can you guess which venue will that be? That is right, the LA Auto Show next month. So, let’s see what this bad boy version of the ML has to offer, shall we?
The 2012 ML63 AMG will be filling the SUV line-up. This is not just ordinary SUV, but it is SUV with more power and undisputed luxury design. We think that the road for the 2012 model year of ML63 AMG might not be difficult as we don’t think that the SUV could be competing against the still-mysterious Maserati SUV.
On the engine and performance the 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG is powered by the menacing new 5.5L twin-turbo V8 which we all know its replacing the stunning naturally-aspirated 6.2L V8. Okay, the displacement has been cut down, will get twin-turbo, but we are more than sure that the 2012 ML63 AMG is carrying more power.
Mercedes-Benz stated that the 2012 ML63 AMG SUV has new forced induction unit that gives 518 horsepower. It doesn’t stop there as the Performance Package option is also available for the 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG and this package delivers 550 horsepower of total power output. That is about it for now as we will get the chance to scoop the interior and overall design of the luxury SUV next month.
